Opioid Use Disorder Course during the NC OBGYN Society Annual Meeting @ Raleigh Marriott Crabtree Valley Hotel

The ASAM Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Course covers the highest quality, evidence- based practices for treating patients
with opioid use disorder. The combined online enduring material and live activity will provide the required 8 hours needed to
obtain the waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorder. The curriculum for this course
has been specifically designed for women’s health providers.

The ASAM Treatment of Opioid Use Disorder Course is designed for:
• Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and clinical nurse specialists who wish to obtain a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorder.
• Clinicians and healthcare team members working with providers who prescribe buprenorphine in office-based treatment of opioid use disorder.

Learning Objectives:
• Assess patients for the full spectrum of harmful opioid use including misuse and use disorders.
• Describe procedures for initiating, stabilizing, maintaining, monitoring and modifying treatment of patients on buprenorphine or naltrexone.
• Describe unique issues of treating adolescents, young adults, pregnant and postpartum patients maintained on medications for opioid use disorder.
• Apply for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine to patients with opioid use disorder.
