On January 14, the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee of the House Energy and Commerce Committee held a hearing on state efforts to curb the opioid crisis. State health leaders from several states, including Kody Kinsley, Deputy Secretary for Behavioral Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services, provided the subcommittee with information on how their states are using federal funds to combat the opioid overdose epidemic.
