North Carolina’s Attorney General has joined dozens of other attorneys general in calling for Congress to permanently classify fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs. Josh Stein announced last week that he is taking part in the bipartisan push which included a letter to Congress urging them to pass the Federal Initiative to Guarantee Health by Targeting Fentanyl Act (S. 2701). The legislation will ensure law enforcement agencies and courts retain the tools needed to keep those who traffic in the deadly substance off the streets.
