Pharmacists play an important role as leaders in preventing the misuse and potential overdose of opioid medication. Community pharmacist and business owner, Cathy Huie, PharmD, FIACP, CPP, shares ways to help pharmacists feel more comfortable accessing risks and providing counseling and education in ensuring patient safety when using opioid medication.
